“Talented Italians in the UK” Association

The “Talented Italians in the UK” Association (TIUKA) was founded by ICCIUK following the experience gained from the “Talented Young Italians Awards”. Since 2013, the ICCIUK organises the Awards in order to bring to public attention the young Italians who have succeeded in their endeavours in the UK.

The TIUKA’s Members are Italians of success who want to give their contribution to strengthen further the relation of the Italian Community with Italy and the UK.

The Association aims to maintain a link between the UK and Italy, collaborating with the other existing Anglo-Italian organisations with similar goals.

The TIUKA is a non-partisan organisation, without political aims.

The TIUKA will have economic autonomy but in its initial phase it will be part of the ICCIUK activities and it will be represented by the President of the ICCIUK or by his delegate.

Association's Activities

Mentoring e Tutoring, a system of initiatives with the aim to support young Italians to pursue a successful and appropriate international career.

“Italian immigration to the UK: Curse or Opportunity?”

This is the first piece of research realised by the TIUKA and coordinated by Brunello Rosa and Flavio Mondello Malvestiti.

The paper is about the important phenomenon of the Italian immigration in the UK and analysises its motivations and economic reasons. At the same time, it highlights the size of the phenomenon and the opportunities related to it. The research discusses the possible benefits that Italy could obtain from a potential return migration or from a cross-border community responding to “glocal” growth.

In addition, the research compares, thanks to the collaboration with Centro Studi della C.G.I.A. di Mestre, the relative weight of bureaucracy in Italy and in the UK and discusses how excessive bureaucracy tends to result in the reduced efficiency and competitiveness of the Italian system.
