The Italian Chamber of Commerce is organising a masterclass to help educate future chefs and operators of the food industry on the authentic Italian product, its characteristics and its different uses. The initiative is part of the ministerial project “the extraordinary Italian taste” seeing Italian organisations, enterprises and institutions all around the world working to foster a conscious consumption of authentic Made in Italy products and to protect their inimitable quality.

During the event, the Italian Chef Maurizio Cecco and an expert on Italian products will explain and show the difference between IGP and DOC certified products to the students. After the first informative part of the masterclass, they will present the differences of a set of selected products in terms of quality, showing their visual, olfactory and organoleptic characteristics, and compare them with non-authentic products. Finally, the Chef will prepare a couple of dishes showing how the use of authentic and certified Italian products is necessary in order to cook authentic and high standard Italian dishes. The students will be invited to taste both the selected product and the dishes.
