Brexit Done! What now for UK-Italy Trade?

Brexit Done! What now for UK-Italy Trade?
Place : Assolombarda: Via Pantano, 9 - Milan
Date :04/02/2020 - 04/02/2020
Contact : Carolina Ghittino

SAVE THE DATE

Following the UK election result of 12 December 2019, it is almost certain that the UK will leave the EU at 23.00 GMT on 31 January 2020. Additionally, the new UK government has made it clear that the envisaged transition period for negotiating the trade deal between the EU and the UK – during which time the UK will, in effect, remain within the Single Market and Customs Union – will not last beyond 31 December 2020.
There will therefore be no more than 11 months, the remainder of 2020, for the parties to come to an agreement on their future relationship, covering a vast quantity of subject matter, including the trade in goods and services, data protection and IP, movement of people and workers, energy matters and security cooperation and much more.
Given this extremely short period for negotiation, this conference, which will take place a mere 2 working days after Brexit, will give businesses a chance to hear the latest from top UK and Italian government representatives, to understand from sector experts about the likely effects of the changing relationship on a range of business sectors and for them to address directly their priorities for an orderly and non-disruptive Brexit.
