The Extraordinary Italian Taste at the City of Glasgow College

The Extraordinary Italian Taste at the City of Glasgow College

As part of the European Edition of The Extraordinary Italian Taste Project, the Scottish Branch of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the UK organised an educational meeting with students of the City of Glasgow College.

The event was divided into three parts: a cookery class dedicated to 20 students of the Advanced Professional Cookery courses, a marketing lecture for a broader audience of marketing and media students, and a tasting for all the students and guests.

For the cookery class, the amazing Chefs Sebastian and Giovanna from the very Italian Eusebi Deli carried out a food demonstration showing how to make a ricotta from scratch and what the difference is between a British and an Italian Carbonara.

As per the marketing lecture, the Scottish Branch Manager and the President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for the UK, along with the Director of the Italian Trade Agency, educated more than a hundred students from marketing and media courses regarding the branding of authentic Italian products in the international markets and about the quality logos sponsored by the European Union. The Italian Honorary Consul of Glasgow closed this second part with a brief speech, underlining the importance of the authenticity in regard to Italian food.

The event was concluded with a tasting and a networking moment for the general public, the best way to recognise an authentic Italian product from a fake one and to appreciate the difference between them.

Great feedback from both the students and the speakers. A very appreciated and crowded event.

Such an extraordinary Italian day.
